  10.        InfoSearch allows users to search and browse virtually all
  11.        SGI documentation: online books, man pages and release
  12.        notes. It is best described as a graphical, "web-based",
  13.        alternative to many standard IRIX Interactive Desktop(TM)
  14.        tools and commands such as: _i_n_s_i_g_h_t(1), _g_r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s(1),
  15.        _r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s(1), _x_m_a_n(1), and _m_a_n(1). Note that at this time it
  16.        does not contain every feature offered by each of those
  17.        tools taken individually.

  19.        The InfoSearch client is a simple, SGI-provided "web-
  20.        browser" that connects to a Common Gateway Interface (CGI)
  21.        process (referred to as the InfoSearch "server") that works
  22.        in conjunction with your HTTP (web) server.  If you wish, a
  23.        standard "web-browser" such as netscape(1) can be used to
  24.        contact any available InfoSearch "server"; the InfoSearch
  25.        client is not required. Simply point your browser at a
  26.        requested InfoSearch "server" URL; such as as
  27.        http://<hostname>/infosearch/.  You can also access up-to-
  28.        date InfoSearch content from SGI at:
  29.        http://techpubs.sgi.com/infosearch/.

  103.        After you install the online release notes for a product
  104.        (the _r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s subsystem), you can view the release notes on
  105.        your screen.

  107.        Note:  You can read the online release notes for most
  108.               products before installing the software.  Refer to
  109.               the booklet in your CD-ROM case for more information.

  111.        If you have a graphics system, select ``Release Notes'' from
  112.        the Help submenu of the Toolchest. This displays the
  113.        _i_n_f_o_s_e_a_r_c_h(1) or _g_r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s(1) graphical browser for the
  114.        online release notes.

  116.        Refer to the _i_n_f_o_s_e_a_r_c_h(1) or _g_r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s(1) man page(s) for
  117.        information on options to this command.
